Hey, Google Adsense..Eff You!
My Adsense account has been disabled due to “invalid activity”.
This is maddening. I’m so mad that I’m even allowing the consequences of what will happen to my blogs to take center place in my mind. In fact, the hit isn’t really that big. But, Google, you really pissed me off. Oh, and the Adsense program…it sucks.
Here’s the back story…and it’s gonna’ be quick because, honestly, I won’t wanna’ talk about it that much.
I have been blogging for about 18 months. Mainly because I love blogging, and sure, I wanted to make a little money doing it. In that 18 months I’ve created about 7 blogger blogs (all legit-no spam shit) and 5 self-hosted blogs, again-all legit. All of these sites ran Adsense.
In that eighteen months I had not even earned enough through Adsense for a single payout. As a matter of fact, last month (Jan 2012) my balance at Adsense was $97.58. I was getting excited. I was almost there.
Before I started my Android blog in November, I was averaging 3 clicks PER MONTH and somewhere between .48 and $1.25 (PER MONTH!)
This month (FEB 12) was by my best month. When I went to bed last night I checked my Adsense. I had earned .01 cents but was at around $9.58 for the month. I was hoping on a $20 month. (Good for me and it was growing because the Android blog was growing)
I wake up this morning and my Adsense had been disable because of “invalid activity”.
Couple of Points:
-If I was seeking out invalid clicks, I would have made sure I didn’t end last month at a couple of dollars short of a payout.
-If someone was trying to “hijack” my Adsense I would have noticed a spike in clicks because I follow very closely.
That being said, I can’t tell you what happened when I went to bed last night. Did someone decide to wage war on my Adsense account between midnight and 5 a.m.? Possibly…
But again, eff you Google Adsense. I hate loving Android because I know Google now is a suck-hole.
But that’s it…that’s the end of my rant. I’m going to find alternatives. I’m going to survive without Google.

Eff you Google Adsense.

I’m speechless! I feel sick about this situation. There’s gotta be some way to set things right. I know you didn’t do anything wrong. This is a huge mistake!

Felicia,
Yeah…I don’t even know what to do. I’m working on options but it’s just so frustrating. I am going to try and get in touh with a Google rep just to see exactly why and ensure that it doesn’t happen again.

Man, that sucks. Kind of scary that someone can screw up your Adsense account. Please let us know if you find out the reason. Good luck.
Cesar,
Unfortunately, Google won’t disclose this to me. Even if my attempt is to find a way to combat it in the future.
Ken
Well? Have you figured it out? Did they reinstate you? This is REALLY scary. I’m patiently awaiting your alternatives…

Crystal,
No they denied my appeal. All I know is that it was for “invalid activity”…usually “invlaid click activity” is the culprit. Unfortunately, mine is the most common but least explainable disablment reason. One of my alternatives was to create a blog building site, you can find the link in the upper right of the BFD here…it’s called Blog Builder HQ. It is far from complete or polished but I wanted it up and running ASAP.
My review of Adsense alternatives will be less then pleasant as none are EVEN CLOSE to Adsense. My opinion is that if you get banned…then you better start doing a lot of affiliate marketing blogs…and do it quickly.
