Niche Adsense Blogs and The Rabbit Hole

| February 8, 2012 | Comments (2)

I’m sitting here, doing other things besides blogging (well, right now, I’m blogging) but before this I wasn’t.  BUT…I was THINKING about blogging.  I was trying to think of new niche or micro-niche ideas to start blogging about.  So, here I am (or there I was) watching cartoons, drinking scotch and wondering if my wife was going to come downstairs to watch TV with me soon.

Niche Adsense Blogging and Brainstorming

So, I start brain storming.  A Scotch blog!  A little research, though, and the CPC is low and the competition is way too high. The cartoon I was watching didn’t have an audience, a low CPC and was something that I had no interest in writing or learning about.  So, then it dawned on me a little bit.  My wife.

My wife is a military spouse.  Earlier in the day we were talking about changing banks, to one that was more military friendly.  So, I started doing a little research.  Two new niches, “Military Spouses” and “Military Friendly Banks”.  The global total searches are low but there are so many long-tail keywords that have a lot of searches and lots of potential.  The CPC?  Not that bad.  I can’t reveal all of my ideas, but let’s just say that with a little time I think both of these niches have moderate potential.

And that’s it.  That’s what I call the Niche Adsense Rabbit Hole.  I don’t feell like Alice or Mr. Carroll but the magic that happens within a bloggers mind is truly remarkable sometimes.

These posts may be getting shorter but the more I learn and experience in blogging the more I want to put down here at Blogging For Dads and document.  It’s worth the ride.  It’s fun.  It’s intoxicating and frustrating.  As always, I invite you to take this journey of making money online with me.

Ken, it’s good that you document your thoughts here. It helps other newbies to understand the blogging process. There’s no mystery to blogging. In my opinion blogging is all about creativity, personality and quality (you’ve got an overabundance of all 3).

    Felicia,

Good to hear from you again and thanks, as always for stopping by my humble blog. I agree about the 3 qualities…wish I could find the time to put all three into 5th gear and work work work…

Yes, GREAT Super Bowl…Eli and the G-men deserved to win….though, I’m still in mourning.

    Ken
