Buying and Building Niche Adsense Blogs
I hate that you can’t trust people online. Expecially in the make money online world. You just never know who you’re really dealing with. Let me recount a little story with you all about something I learned when trying to get into the devious world of niche blog building for the purpose of making some money with Adsense. You’re gonna’ wanna’ laugh at me…
I’d appreciate it if you didn’t.
Adsense Niche Sites: My Bad Experience On Flippa
Here’s the deal. If you find the right niche (micro-niche really), with the right amount of monthly global searches and with some advertising strength behind it (to ensure a reasonable CPC..or EPC, in our case) then you can do really well.
However, if you get lazy and go try to find one on Flippa that is “already making money” and 1 year free hosting and an SEO plan and yada, yada, yada-then you can get burned. Which is what I think happened to me.
To make a long story short here’s how it went down. I bought a micro niche site from a seller at Flippa that sounded and looked good. It was already brining in pennies a day and the seller said that she had a killer SEO plan that would make it earn even more. All I had to was follow that plan, which included me writing articles and placing them on .edu sites with anchored backlinks to my niche site.
I did it. I worked hard at the SEO plan and I had some pretty good rankings. And guess what? It started to make money. It made $34 the first month and as of the 9th of this month it had already made $20 so I thought it was on path to make $60. Pretty cool, I thought! A little micro-niche site that was on auto-pilot and all it may need was a fresh link building campaign every once in a while. I could do that!
Then something happened. On the 10th it brought in .29 cents. Okay, I thought, bad day. On the 11th, it did .23 cents. Uh oh, I contacted the seller and asked if she had any ideas what was going on. She didn’t. Maybe I didn’t do the SEO plan correctly or it needed a fresh one, she suggested.
Then after looking at all analytics data I found something out that really got me mad. Almost all of my traffic was coming from three cities in Vietnam and my bounce rate was about 99.93%. Average time on site was 7 seconds. Sound funny? Yeah.
I was born during the day, sweety, but it wasn’t yesterday. Oh, and the fact that you may have taken a risk with my Adsense account really pisses me off.
However, she still gets the benefit of the doubt with me. She said she would look into my back links and get back to me if she finds something. So far she hasn’t. Funny how quick she was to get back to me on every other occasion we had talked.
I’ll give her 72hrs-36 of which are already gone-and then I’m gonna’ blow her up. I’ll post her Flippa username here and let everyone know who to avoid. I’ll report her to Flippa as well. But…she gets the next 36 hours. That’s how I roll.
Niche Building The Right Way For Adsense Revenue
Yes, there’s a way to do it without screwing yourself on anyone else over.
I came across a cool couple of dudes over at Adsense Flippers that have put a really cool guide in regards to building profitable niche sites. You either keep the winners and develop them into authority sites or sell the ones that are making minimal money on sites like Flippa. By doing it the right way everyone wins.
You have to check out their free guide. It is mega-cool, and I learned a enough about Adsense and building niche sites to realize that the little niche site I bought on Flippa never really had a chance.
Such is the way with blogging for money and finding your way around the “make money online” internet world. You just really can’t trust anyone. And then I remembered my little tagline I put at the bottom of every post here at Blogging For Dads. It doesn’t say “buy blogs” it says “make blogs”! My bad.

Hey Ken…thanks for the mention!
It can be rough buying niche sites. There are lots of people that know how to build a site…not as many that know how to get them earning honestly.
While we do sell our sites on Flippa and on our website, we recommend that people build some on their own first. As you’ve noted, you’ll be in a much better position to take some on once you understand the process. Now…if you can get to the point where you can regularly turn around $30/month sites into $200-300/month sites…you can make a KILLING that way.
Best of luck!

Hey Ken!
Yes, we monitor our “brand” pretty closely. It’s interesting as it grows and gets us into new, interesting discussions we wouldn’t have otherwise, I think.
Found a great one today talking about us as “Guru’s” which we found pretty funny. Tried to explain that there’s so much we don’t know and are trying to learn that we clearly aren’t in that category!
